The Flying Gecko

The flying gecko is found in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Borneo, and Malaysia. The do not actually fly, but glide by means of large webbed feet and skin flaps located on their limbs and tail. They are a nocturnal, arboreal species. They can be aggressive, and will bite when handled.

Size: Flyers can grow up to 8"

Feeding: These geckos will eat crickets, mealworms, butterworms, and waxworms.

Housing: Flyer geckos are happiest in a cage that is taller than wider due to their aboreal nature. They can be kept in a 10 gallon aquarium.

Lighting: Being nocturnal they do not need UV light, but lighting provides a heat sourse. Incandesent light can be used in the day, with a red bulb for night.
It is still said that UV lighting can be beneficial to the health of nocturnal geckos.
Temps: Flyers need daytime temps between 75 and 80, nighttime between 70 and 75.

Humidity: these geckos are from the rainforest, so humidity is necessary, so these geckos need to be misted at least twice daily. A good nightime misting is a must because that is whey these geckos are active and will drink the water droplets.
